SUGGESTION: Replace the duel arena with an actual sand casino including slots, blackjack and roulette. Add a bingo too while you're at it. At least then we don't have to fake the duel arena being a place for gambling addicts.

How HUT mirrors a casino and drives gambling addiction

I repost this every year to try to help those spending more than they would like on HUT and to educate newer players on this issue before it becomes a problem. A lot of people do the majority of their spending in the first month or two so it's good to talk about now pretty soon before the next iteration releases.
You can be a whale of a spender, free to play, or anything in between and that's fine as long as you're okay with it and it's not negatively affecting your life. Some people would rather rip packs to improve a team they'll use all year instead of blowing $30 on a night out at a bar or movie or whatever. The other side to that is that I've personally seen people spend over $10,000 in a single year on coin sales and over $800 on a single card. I've seem people sell cards for rent money. The important thing is to honestly assess where you're at, what you want, what this pack will actually get you, and what you're buying.
Facts:
Here's what you can do to frame it correctly in your brain
  • Remove your stored credit card from your account. This will force you to type in the numbers if you decide you want a pack. This extra time gives your brain a minute to ponder the decision.
  • Better yet you can buy a PSN card BEFORE you start, which has the value you want to spend.
  • Best is probably buying coins, then buying packs with those. More bang for your buck and a clear stopping point.
  • Keep track of how much you spend as you go through the year. Make yourself write your new purchase on this sheet before you buy, and make yourself view the yearly total. $5 and here and $5 there add up over time but are individually easy to not notice.
  • All this content will be GONE in a year or less. On average, even if you sell coins, you're likely to get maybe 5-10% back depending on when you sell.
  • If you're having a hard time not getting excited about packs and browse from a full browser, hide pack pull flaired posts.
  • If you have a gambling problem, get help. 1-800-522-4700 is the number for the national gambling hotline in the US. Here are some Canadian resources. I've heard of people not making rent but buying packs, and I've heard people blow over $2,000 on packs. This shit can get real, fast.
I think it's important that people understand the realities before buying packs. It's like a raffle/lottery, sure you could win a fancy McDavid (or a smaller prize), but you're way more likely to get something that won't even help your team let alone fit on your team.
If you're determined to get that new player you get a much better return buying coins from a triple checked regular seller (/hutcoinsales). You have to be sure who you're talking to, and that they've been reliable for a very long time, but at least you're paying for more than unrealized hope. I'd say on average in my experience you get at least 3x the value buying coins than you receive on average buying packs. Coins are hard to buy at the beginning of the year though FYI.
Here's a good video about microtransactions and their history, if you feel like being angry today
Upvote it or don't, karma is not the point. Sticky it and downvote the shit out of it. Hope all is well with all of you! If something is outdated let me know, I haven't bought the game this year or for the past few years.

Gambling Addiction

Gambling Addiction
There’s a thriving industry in our country that prospers because it deliberately creates addicts. Not tobacco, liquor nor underground drugs, it involves casino gambling. Everything about it is all legal, and when addicts come to their glittering facilities, they are welcome with posh hotels, lavish food, glamorous entertainment and other distractions.
Many experts consider casino gambling addiction as a disease, rather than a bad, compulsive habit. Of course, there are many degrees of the affliction, from a fun hobby to mildly debilitating to uncontrolled excess. For example, the typical senior citizens who patronize the nearby Native American or cruise ship casinos could be considered mildly obsessed with trying to win with the slot machines. They may visit once a month or less, lose a hundred dollars, but rarely play at the high-fee table games.
Fc
On the other hand, there are those who gradually become more and more obsessed with gambling, primarily with table games blackjack and roulette. They go to casinos once a week or more and may lose several hundred dollars on each visit. The most afflicted addicts are those who may show the following out-of-control symptoms, often growing in severity as losses mount up.
  1. At first, compulsive gamblers constantly assure themselves and family members that mobile slots online is a hobby and is not affecting their lives nor finances too seriously.
  2. They justify setting aside growing amounts of money for gambling, insisting it doesn’t take away from household needs. They’re always sure their skills and knowledge will eventually make them winners.
  3. They continually talk about the pleasures of gambling, glamor of keno online Canada casinos and often lie about how many times they’ve won in the past. If they lose on a casino visit, they insist they’ll win the money back and more on the next visit. Their compulsion to return grows to desperation.
  4. No matter what the evidence is to the contrary, they insist they don’t have a problem with gambling. If pressed, they may promise to cut back, but the effort is usually short-lived. If pressed more, they become irritable and angry at those who suggest cutting back.
  5. Obsessed gamblers eventually try to cover their losses by borrowing money, fail to pay bills and eventually will become desperate enough to steal money from family members. In the worst cases, they become mentally and physically ill from living lives of deception and false hopes.
Gambling can become an addiction as debilitating and harmful as dependence on drugs. When it reaches that level of harm to the gambler and family members, psychological intervention is absolutely necessary.

No doubt.

There's two things in the world that I know works and I don't need anyone to prove it to me as I've proved myself.
Law Of Attraction and Creatine.
Creatine works as I used to only be able to do 84 push-ups consecutively without stopping and then I decided to test Creatine results so for a week I took some Creatine everyday and the following Monday I was able to 112 push-ups without stopping.
Anyway,
Law of Attraction.
In January 2015 I started focusing on my life. My family was staying in a different country and I was renting a small bedroom flat with my brother but he was never home. I started watching Tony Robbins videos and motivational videos about life and gym. Every night before bed I would listen to an hour speech of Tony Robbins and then I'd replay it as I got into bed so it plays while I'm sleeping.
I started watching various different videos on this subject. I actually never used the words law of attraction. I was watching videos about the subconscious mind and reading self help books and doing affirmations every morning as soon as I woke up. Then February month I coincidentally(I think not) got put on a course at work called Investment in Excellence. It had everything to do with positive thinking and the subconscious mind. I told the teacher that it's so weird how the books I'm currently reading are saying exactly what the course is teaching but in different words. From then on everything happened at once.
I wrote down goals. All this time that I had time by myself gave me lots of time to figure out what would really make me satisfied and happy in this world.
I had three big goals on my list.
(Keep in mind my parents has their own debt and struggles and I never asked them for money even though my salary was only $400 a month.)
I was driving a scooter and had a cheap old pink Nokia phone.
The goals I wrote down were: -Get a higher paying salary before July 2016. -Get a beautiful girlfriend. (As I used to always just stay with a girl for a week or two and got bored I wanted a relationship this time) -Get a Volkswagen Polo Vivo before 31 May 2015.
There were a few other small goals on the list as well which I actually accomplished almost all of them.
I wrote down those goals in February. By the 1st of July 2015 I accomplished all my goals.
Everything happened so coincidentally but July month when I looked back at what I've achieved in such a small time I was so grateful. In that time I felt like I didn't need anything else anymore as I was too happy but I got too comfortable.
My day routine during this high frequency I was constantly on was to wake up at 4, Read book until 5, Do daily affirmations which were about 3 sentences, Leave for work at 5:45. Throughout my day at work I would randomly repeat positive affirmations and I was always in a high vibration happy mood.
In March month I applied for the same job title but bigger and better company and I got the job. Started on the 1st of May. The new offer was triple my previous salary.
I resigned in April and obviously took the the new offer. Only problem was to get there I had to climb on the freeway which was way too far to travel on my scooter. I didn't have a car yet but knew I'd get my car no matter what. In that month I started talking to the hottest girl at my work who everyone used to always say "wow she's good looking" and I used to always say "that's my wife". I was only 19 and she 21 but that didn't hold me back. At the time when we went on our first date she was talking to 3 other guys. All of them had too much money and were much older than me but I had no doubt in myself and she chose me over everyone. Today we've been together since then.
For the first month I managed to drive the scooter to my new workplace until near the end of the month the scooter didn't want to start anymore.
I drove my Polo Vivo out the dealership on the 31st of May 2015... Mind=Blown
I didn't have a driving license yet so bought the car on my dads name. I didn't write down at that time that I waned a driving license but I got everything that I wanted only after I got my car I wrote down a goal to get my license and I got it September that year.
So to sum it up.. No matter what anyone says I'll always believe in the law of attraction. And I hope you do too. I've noticed some people just laugh it off when I try to explain it to them. My senior at work fortunately listens to everything I say and he thanks me for driving the Range Rover he recently got.
So that was the good part of my experience.
After I got everything I wanted, I stopped completely at the pace I was going at. It's like I was on pause. And not for a few days but for the whole of 2016. I didn't write down any goals, didn't try to achieve anything. I was just too comfortable. All the time I used to spend on myself I now spend it on my girlfriend. With my small salary I was able to buy clothes for myself every month. With the triple increase I've managed to be in a lot of debt. Credit card maxed out. iPhone 6 contract, Loans on my name. Most of my debt was due to a 6 month casino gambling addiction. I was able to stop the addiction. Even though my dad resigned and he was the only one working in my family to care of them and pay their bills and he has been without a job for 4 months now and his pension money is finished. He sold his 4x4 truck.. another car hit my car from behind 24th December2016 and it's been at panelbeater since then. Supposed to get it later today finally.. but even though all this bad stuffs happening I've managed to stay positive this whole time. I've been doing a lot more research on LOA recently and been doing my affirmations again. Something great is about to happen.
So just to end this post on a positive note. I'm grateful for everything I have and wish everyone success with the law of attraction as it genuinely works. Visualize your success, feel it, speak it.
Wish me the best, Send out your positive energies to me guys;)

Gambling addict who works in a Casino

its been 5 days now. I've managed to withhold gambling. I work in a casino and even yesterday. saw someone win 250 dollars when they had come in with just 10 dollars. I see the losses. hundreds of them. in any given day at my small 20 machine casino, I will see maybe 1 out of every 15 people actually cash a ticket. of those people, even fewer actually win more money than they started with, and yet a smaller percentage leave with that money.
I've been trying to focus on the people who lose. the customers I care about because they are my regulars and how displeased and unhappy they leave. i try to remind myself I am often that very person. the struggle has been difficult. the one thing that has helped me immensely, is repeating to myself " I Am A Non Gambler" i am not losing anything. i am not giving anything up... it takes conviction on the daily and i hope today I am as strong. i love my job and don't want to leave it.
I hope the rest of you can find better things to spend your money and time on today. i hope its wholesome and fulfilling and that you make yourself proud.
